Virtual DJ

Free and Paid Version

This is my favorite software! When I first began, I used the free version due to the fact that I didn't have a controller...it took me a while to figure out what all I needed.  The interface is fairly simple to operate.   I would suggest this program! I pay $19.99 a month for pro status.

Serato DJ Pro or Serato DJ Lite

I have tried this software a couple times in the past, both interfaces Pro and Lite.  It was not my cup of tea, but if you are starting out and want to integrate your library by using this software, you may have better luck than I had.  I played with it some, but it seemed to load very slowly at the start (but that could be because I have so much on my computer). Just do your research!

Pioneer DDJ-400 Controller with Rekordbox Software

I recently purchased the Pioneer DDJ-400 and I am in love with this controller.  It came with a free subscription to Rekordbox (which I installed hoping that I would love it just as much as Virtual DJ). Well, it wasn't as quite a user friendly as I would have liked and it would have been tedious to break down my library by genre. I thought it would work better with the controller, but both software packages do about the same thing, except for the fact that Rekordbox allows for you to sync lights to it.

Behringer XR16 Mixer

I absolutely LOVE this mixer.  It is compatible to be used with either an android tablet or an iPad, as well as a computer if you are not operating on WiFi. I think this may single-handedly be my favorite mixer to date! It is rather pricey, but you get what you pay for!

Pyle 8-Channel 800 Watt Mixer

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, this is a pretty good mixer also. This mixer can be connected via bluetooth, USB or aux cord.  Find you some good speakers and you are in business.  I prefer this mixer with smaller speakers.

EV - Electric Voice 18" Subwoofer

Along with the 12" EV's, throw in the 18in Subwoofer and you have yourself a good system!  This sub is so powerful and it also has the adjusting knob on the back. Well worth the money!

EV - Electro Voice Speakers 12"

My first set of speakers were a part of a PA package I purchased off of Ebay.  Let me tell ya, they were great until one stopped working.  I had to find a replacement quickly.  I replaced it with a Peavy I purchased at a local pawn shop! LOL  Had to have a quick fix!  Fastforward to the present.  I recently had a wedding to DJ and was freaking out because my first amp went to crap.  I found myself out the day before the wedding shopping and picked out these speakers.  The sound is incredible and the adjusting knobs on the back of the speakers give you better control over the amount of bass and treble.  Just some good quality speakers!

Beats 3 Solo Wireless

My Go-To's!  I love my Beats.  These offer a built in microphone, bluetooth connectivity, 22 hours of listening and they are noise-canceling for over the ear wireless enjoyment.  They are great to use to listen to the upcoming music loaded on your deck.  Just charge and go or...another bonus, these connect by an auxillary cord.
